The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is only one part of the international youthwork of the social service in Tecklenburg. As multifaceted the programm Youth in Action 2007 - 13 of the EU-commission is, as extensive is the european youthwork in the district Steinfurt.

Since 1997 100 young people were sent into all european countries as european volunteers and over 150 people were hosted in the district Steinfurt to complete their voluntary service in many different institutions of the open youthwork, schools or other charitable projects. Furthermore hundreds of young people took part in reams of bi-, tri- and multilateral meetings.
